MIT Lincoln Laboratory Business Manager in Lexington, Massachusetts

The Financial Services Department is looking to hire a Business Manager to provide financial and business support to the Capital Projects Office. Reporting to the Financial Planning Manager, this position will need to interact with the Facilities Service Department and Government in order to consolidate, plan, and report actuals for short and long term facilities modernization and other facility capital projects.

Position Summary:

  • Planning and reporting for CPO and Facilities Modernization Plan (FMP).This position will be the key financial point of contact for the FMP. You will be required to develop and maintain budget and forecasts for the CPO operations and the FMP; complete financial reporting and analysis as defined by the planning calendar; support project life cycle cost analysis; gather, report, and analyze facilities financial information for MIT Campus as needed; assist with the preparation and presentation of financial data both internal and to the Government related to facilities capital projects.

  • CPO Financial & Administrative Support.This position will provide financial and administrative support to the CPO including assisting with procurements, interfacing with Accounts Payable, inputting labor distribution, and guiding the staff on Lincoln policies and procedures. In addition, this position will be the CPO Point of Contact for all SAP Business Objects reporting needs. This position will guide the CPO staff on Lincoln Laboratory policies and procedures and interface with the Technology and Contracts Office on items relating to Government policies, regulations, Air Force instructions and Contract Office.

  • CPO Project Support.The position will need to be a liaison to the Facilities Service Department for work needed in new offsite buildings, work in SAP to set up complex project structures, and support site space planning efforts.

  • Financial Services Department (F$D) Support.The position will be the liaison to MIT Campus regarding MIT Campus off-site properties/joint construction projects and will coordinate funding agreements to support those projects.

  • Other Financial Services & CPO responsibilities as assigned

Required Minimum Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related program, Master’s level degree or relevant certificates a plus

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience

  • Must be an organized business person skilled at keeping track of fiscal information within a dynamic work environment

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (primarily Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Experience with SAP, SRM, Business Objects a plus; proficiency with these enterprise tools desired

  • Ability to obtain Certified User status

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to analyze, discuss and present financial results/reports to all levels of the organization

  • Able to work independently, seek out answers to problems and drive positive change within the organization
