JOB SUMMARY - Responsible for managing all aspects of materials flow and to maintain control and accuracy over all goods inventories, including all transactions, procurement, planning, warehouse, receiving, and shipping of finished goods in order to support manufacturing activities in support of client requirements. Responsible for overseeing all employees working in Materials Handling at several locations. Responsible for providing support to employees in areas of receipt and inspection of incoming raw materials, inventory control and the shipping of finished goods.The person in this position must have extensive knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of his/her responsibilities. The person must also be knowledgeable in all domestic and international shipping regulations (e.g. DOT, IATA, etc.).JOB DUTIES -

  • Develop, implement and manage cross-functional, multisite fully integrated planning process consisting of material receipt, inventory accountability, material allocation, shipping and receiving.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to develop the best strategy for material planning to support internal manufacturing and customer requirements.

  • Establish and implement methods and best practices related to the systems and process that support inventory forecasting, purchasing, and material control.

  • Support scheduling activities by monitoring material inventories, tracking progress of production and reviewing factors that affect schedules.

  • Responsible for accuracy of inventory counts by implementing and managing, in conjunction with Purchasing, an inventory control system, capable of identifying discrepancies in inventory counts and critical component traceability.

  • Participates in MRB and CAPA teams to resolve quality issues working with both internal and external resources.

  • Adhere to established company policies, procedures, terms and conditions and legal matters that affect purchasing policies.

  • Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by implementing, maintaining and aligning company policies that adhere to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations.

  • Oversee and lend support to employees receiving, inspecting, sampling, assigning lot numbers and completing documentation and logs for all incoming materials.

  • Ensure all training is performed and in compliance for the Materials Handling staff

EDUCATION, PROFESSIONAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE

  • BS degree in business, management or other related discipline.

  • At least 5 years progressive experience in management of materials and inventory within a GMP setting, FDA regulated, manufacturing environment.

  • Experience in total quality, six sigma, or other similar environments.

  • Knowledge and understanding of ERP/MRP systems and their use in a manufacturing environment, System Implementation experience highly preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.

  • APICS certification preferred

  • Experience shipping dangerous goods, DOT & IATA Training, international shipments import / export regulations.

  • Experience managing up to 10 direct reports at multiple sites

  • Excellent interpersonal skills must be able to lead, willing to compromise for the greater good

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Detail oriented

  • Ability to multi-task

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS -

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

COMMUNICATIONS & CONTACTS - Works closely with Manufacturing, Quality Assurance and Quality Control staff in performing varied work procedures and activities. Interacts with Operations staff.MANAGERIAL & SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES - Responsible for directing activities of staff members. Performs staff evaluations. Must be able to observe and identify potential issues and address satisfactorily.
